WHICH SPORTS ARE OFFERED THROUGH THE ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT AND WHEN?
Below you will find a list of competitive sports offered by the Davidson Athletic Department. These teams will compete against other local schools in games during the season.
FALL: Approximate Season Dates: Sept. 7 - Nov. 16
WINTER: Approximate Season Dates: Nov. 19 - Mar.8

I HEARD THERE ARE OTHER SPORTS OFFERED, TOO. WHERE DO I GET INFORMATION?
There are other sports activities offered through the San Rafael Recreation Department, like tennis, sailing, and mountain biking.
Also, the Allen Sports Club is a free after-school sports program for middle and high school students to come play at Dominican University in San Rafael. The program runs Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Basketball, flag football, soccer, and other sports will be offered. More information here.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE?
The requested voluntary contribution is $50 for each sport season in which a student athlete plays and will be sought at the start of each season. The funds raised go directly to theAthletics Department and will cover much-needed basic expenses like uniforms, equipment, officials, league fess and other necessities.
HOW MANY DAYS A WEEK DO TEAMS PRACTICE?
Most teams practice and/or play 2 days a week. Usually, practices take immediately after school. Most practices last 1.5 - 2 hours.
DOES EVERYONE MAKE THE TEAM OR DO I HAVE TO TRYOUT?
We encourage any student who desires to play a sport to register. However, we have a very large number of students who want to play Volleyball and Basketball, but only a limited number of players per team.
DO I HAVE TO UPDATE MY REGISTRATION EVEN IF I HAVE ALREADY PLAYED A SPORT THIS YEAR AT DMS?
Yes. Your ONLINE Athletic Registration must be updated by the deadline for each season of sport in which you are participating. Registration Dates:
Fall: August 30
Winter: October 25
Spring: March 7
Parents of student-athletes are asked to attend & volunteer at home games as needed, and help to carpool athletes to away games as needed. The Athletic Department relies heavily on parent volunteer time and donations to keep our program running. Contact your team's coach for more details.
